Last night my friends and I went to see the dear hunter in STL. After finding the best worst little club in the world we had to sit through two less than stellar bands. Then a band starting playing music that was one of the prettiest things I have ever witnessed. It’s mellow rock and features a lady on keyboards and backup vocals. I’m not sure why they are called Lydia and I don’t really care. As soon as the show was over I went over to the merch table and bought both of their cds and now as I type this I am so pleased with the purchase. Wish I would have bought this shirt though. It’s quite beautiful.
The Dear Hunter was pretty much exactly what I anticipated them to be. Didn’t play any of the songs that I really wanted to hear but those songs do require some strings to be complete so it’s understandable. The big problem was that there was only ~150 kids at the show which is by far the smallest show I have ever been to in St. Louis. The singer even took note of it saying to buy the guitar player 4 drinks and collectively it would equal 100 drinks.
